Member Responsibilities

New Members are asked to:

  • Attend six New Member trainings, including an all-day New Member Course Retreat.
  • Attend a minimum of 2 monthly General Membership Meetings.
  • Pay League dues as well as a one-time New Member Course Fee.
  • Donate (or secure the donation of) $200 worth of merchandise to The Wise Penny, our thrift shop.
  • Work four 3-hour shifts at our fundraisers (e.g., The Wise Penny, Boutique Warehouse Sale, etc.).
  • Complete two additional “a la carte” service options.  Options include participating in one of our community outreach programs, participating in recruitment activities, working additional shifts at our fundraisers, attending skills trainings, and many more!

Once a New Member has successfully completed her new member requirements, she is admitted into the Active membership of  our League. Please note: Members of the fall new member class will be asked to complete a few additional requirements after they are admitted into active membership.

 Active Members are asked to:

  • Be placed and actively involved on a project committee.
  • Attend at least 3 monthly General Membership meetings.
  • Pay annual League dues.
  • Work two 3-hour shifts such as The Wise Penny, our thrift shop.
  • Work one 3-hour shift at our semi-annual Boutique Warehouse Sale.
  • Donate (or secure the donation of ) $200 worth of merchandise to The Wise Penny.
  • Complete five additional "a la carte" service options. Options include participating in one of our community outreach programs, participating in recruitment activities, working additional shifts at our fundraiser sales, attending skills trainings, making a financial contribution to our Annual Fund, and many more!
