Childcare Certification Classes

Junior League members establish partnership agreements with Baltimore City Childcare Resource Center (BRCCRC) and Maryland Kids in Safety Seats (KISS) to allow for licensure training for childcare providers and families at our new headquarters.

Beginning July 2008, training requirements for licensure by state will be drastically increased.

There are over 22,000 children in formal childcare settings in Baltimore. Currently, training locations are limited to South Baltimore.  BCCRC's hope is that a more convenient location in northern Baltimore would facilitate attendance for providers in that part of town. The northern Baltimore area includes the Govans/Northwood community that has 108 family-care providers and 10 center-based providers. The Junior League of Baltimore headquarters will be a training site for the community of northern Baltimore City. This will give the providers in the Govans/Northwood community the opportunity to better receive the training to meet the new requirements for childcare providers and licensure, and the needs of the children of the Govans/ Northwood communities.
