City Paper: "Junior League thrift stores have a reputation for being pretty snazzy, and the Wise Penny is no exception. With a storefront that mimics a funky J. Crew in appearance, the Junior Leaguers who own and operate this store have cultivated a mix of brands, from Prada to Ralph Lauren to New York & Co. The Wise Penny is sort of like a mini Marshalls: They sell fine china, kids toys, pictures, shoes, purses, and tons of clothes. The sweater selection is varied (cable-knit, Fair Isle, even cashmere); there are tweed blazers aplenty in the men's section. But if you're in the market for a women's blazer, expect to see lots of shoulder pads."
The Wise Penny is open Tuesday & Thursday 12:00 - 7:00pm; Wednesday, Friday & Saturday 10:00 - 5:00pm; Sunday 12:00 - 5:00pm; closed Mondays.
